The Carrick District Council in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. Hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce the following Hackney Carriage fare scale throughout the Carrick District with effect 24 October 2005.

7am to Midnight
For up to 4 Passengers
For the first 1398 yards or uncompleted part thereof £2.40
After the first 1398 yards for each subsequent 88 yards £0.10
For more than 4 Passengers
For the first 1236 yards or uncompleted part thereof £2.60
After the first 1236 yards for each subsequent 74 yards £0.10

Charges include VAT where applicable. For the purposes of calculating the fare, children not more than three years of age shall not be regarded as persons, any two children more than three years of age and under twelve shall be regarded at one person. Hackney Carriage Proprietors will be permitted to increase the above fares by 50% on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and from 6pm on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve if they so wish and increase the fares from the 7am to Midnight rate to the Midnight to 7am rate on Bank Holidays if they so wish. The above fares represent the maximum fares payable. NB. Charges must only be calculated from the point at which the hirer enters the vehicle.
